Structured Editing
About This Project
This was my first attempt at writing a structural edit for an assignment. I am used to doing line edits and copy edits. Structural edits focuses on content and organization rather than line and copy edits.

My assignment was to listen to three to four episodes of Zohra Mutabbana’s popular podcast Inside Tech Comm with Zohra Mutabbana. I took copious notes on each episode and grouped my observations into four or five categories based on the commonalities. That was the easy part. The hard part was penning the structural edits while paying attention not only to the suggestions but also to the tone of the message.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
-
Structural edit suggestions should be concise and to the point.
